Welcome to TheresaPurrs Maine Coons, a Cincinnati-based Maine Coon cattery dedicated to ethical breeding, outstanding care, and the preservation of this magnificent breed. Our mission is to responsibly breed Maine Coons for health, temperament, and beauty, while honoring the breed standard and protecting their future.
At TheresaPurrs, our cats are deeply cared for family members first and foremost. Each breeding decision is made with intention, guided by comprehensive health testing, strong pedigrees, and a strong respect for genetics. We focus on sound structure, excellent temperament, and overall well-being, striving to produce cats that are not only stunning in appearance but also loving, confident, and well-socialized companions.
Health is the foundation of our program. All breeding cats undergo DNA testing, and our trusted veterinary team performs annual physical examinations with advanced cardiac screening, including echocardiograms, to screen for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). This two-part health testing protocol — combining DNA analysis and heart ultrasound — allows us to breed with confidence, ensuring we have done everything possible to identify and eliminate inherited HCM from our lines.
We prioritize openness, education, and lifelong support for our kitten families. From birth through placement, our kittens are raised in a caring home environment, receiving individualized attention, early socialization, and the highest standards of care. We work closely with veterinarians, mentors, and fellow breeders to continually learn, improve, and preserve best practices.
